ABOUT THE ARTIST
Panos Karamitsos does not have a preferred style or medium, he simply just loves creating. He is completely self-taught and without any formal training. Drawn to art from a very young age, he sold his first piece of artwork, a sketch of a sailing boat, when he was only seven years old.
Working almost exclusively with Eco-friendly acrylic paints, he pays a lot of attention to composition and detail. Panos’s brush strokes and styles echo his inner soul, his mood and his temperament. Strong, yet delicate. Intricate, but clear. He articulates his own contiguously adventurous and dynamic character in his paintings. Always expressive and passionate, he fully immerses himself amidst his art work, constantly guided by his intuition and lifelong love of drawing.
Gifted with a multi-dimensional talent, there is no end to what style and medium he paints. Panos Karamitsos mind is always open to new ideas and techniques, he constantly reinvents his art by using different elements and movements, therefore his paintings constantly evolve. Unless it is a piece of commissioned art, whether it be scenic, a portrait or a painting of a beloved pet from an original photo, he quietly contemplates until he is ready to take his vision to the preferred medium. The brushes and acrylics colors that he uses are an extension of his own hands, they glide onto the canvas until his ideas and concepts are merged. Resulting in the creation of an original and unique work of art.
His specialties include Mixed-Media 3D designs, combining distinctly different materials, exclusive elements, textures and Abstract Art. Panos paints instinctively. He takes a new medium and transforms it easily and effortlessly. An innovative artist who combines old traditional techniques with new innovative ones.

Currently living in Greece, he splits his time between the mainland and the Cyclades Island of Santorini, after living in Ireland, Austria, Switzerland and France.
LILOPAS™, the name of his company is the abbreviation of the words: Light, Love, Passion. His slogan is, "Surround Yourself in Light, Love and Passion"™. The name and the catchphrase is apt as it not only defines the artist, Panos Karamitsos, but his art.
